Job summary

APSI Construction Management seeks a licensed CM-A (Construction Manager/ Architect) to manage VA Central Alabama NRM projects in Montgomery and Tuskegee. The role involves design and construction oversight, scheduling, cost control, QA/QC, and commissioning across a multi-year program.

The position requires a Bachelor of Architecture, 6+ years’ experience in design/construction (medical facilities a plus), and knowledge of codes and contract documents.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited school.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in both design and construction, medical facilities a plus.
• Licensed Professional Engineers a plus.
• Ability to quickly understand and master local/state/federal requirements for the project.
• Knowledge of Construction Contract Documents including Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings.
• Strong communication, language, and software skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management and staff architect support during design and construction phases.
• Assist in project management, planning, scheduling, design reviews, code compliance, testing, record keeping, quality control, cost control, and general oversight of design and construction projects.
• Conduct and attend weekly or bi-weekly progress meetings to review project status and contractor payments.
• Monitor budgetary cost accounting, change orders, and maintain project financial data and documentation.
• Coordinate Testing and Inspection services, commissioning activities, and closeout submittals.
