Qualifications

• Five years of work experience as a construction laborer, with at least three years in a supervisory role related to this position.
• A valid State of Illinois driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct large scale work operations and supervise Foremen of Construction Laborers and their crews on public facilities projects.
• Prepare manpower estimates and schedules to meet department objectives.
• Authorize requisitioning of materials and monitor overtime to ensure efficiency.
• Enforce safety standards and train laborers in proper construction practices and OSHA guidelines.
• Respond to major incidents, coordinate with Foremen, and resolve field problems promptly.
• Develop performance measures and conduct field inspections to ensure quality and productivity.
