Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Water practice in Naples, FL. The role focuses on monitoring and documenting underground utility construction, QA/QC processes, and coordination with contractors.

Responsibilities include reviewing submittals, RFIs, and progress meetings, ensuring safety and quality, and preparing punch lists. Requires 12–14 years in field, 10+ years in water/wastewater projects, and a technical 2-year degree.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12–14 years of underground utility construction observation and documentation experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in water, wastewater utility plant, pump station, or similar construction.
• Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and iOS applications to create field work reports.
• Technical 2-year degree or equivalent; prefer degree in construction management.

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, monitor, inspect and document the contractor’s work with detailed daily reports and photo/video support.
• Review submittals, RFI and responses; incorporate into quality control inspection plan.
• Identify potential scope/time/cost impacts to contract and document resolution actions.
• Maintain attention to detail and anticipate next steps to prevent issues.
• Attend Weekly Progress Meetings with Contractor and review progress vs. schedule.
• Assist with documenting QA/QC compliance and non-compliance.
• Help prepare a project punch list for deficient or incomplete work.
