Job summary

Con Edison seeks a Chief Construction Inspector (CCI) to plan, manage, and oversee construction activities across company facilities and public areas, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.

The role provides leadership at multiple job sites, coordinating with contractors and external agencies to keep projects on schedule and within budget while upholding safety and quality. You will drive continuous improvements in methods and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years field construction experience or
• Associate's degree with 4+ years field construction experience or
• High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years field construction experience vs. industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections to protect and maintain company facilities.
• Ensure all code 753 requirements are implemented on every applicable job.
• Coordinate safety briefings, JSSE, and OJTs with field personnel or contractors.
• Verify contractor means and methods meet HASP and regulatory requirements.
• Respond as incident commander for damages or safety/environmental incidents.
• Monitor project costs and update estimates; prepare RAP/Capital packages as needed.
• Maintain project files, schedules, drawings, submittals, RFIs, and sign-in sheets.
• Facilitate communication across inspectors, managers, and external agencies.
