Job summary

Wallace Montgomery is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector in Richmond, VA to inspect, observe, and document construction and maintenance projects. You will perform soil and materials testing, work under a Project Engineer, and frequently coordinate with client staff.

Travel across the state with possible night shifts and a valid driver’s license is required. Responsibilities include completing IDRs, maintaining progress photos, and participating in change orders and CPM schedule meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license; company vehicle provided.
• Seven years of experience on interstate widening, bridges, paving, soils, or heavy equipment.
• VDOT transportation project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of construction and maintenance projects, including roads and structures.
• Conduct and observe tests on soils, asphalt, concrete, aggregates, metal products, and coatings.
• Respond to data requests and maintain daily progress photos.
• Participate in traffic control activities and change order negotiations.
• Complete the Inspector's Daily Report (IDR) and reconcile pay quantities.
