Job summary

Planate Management Group seeks an experienced Construction Inspector to perform detailed inspections for a marine project, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with contract requirements. You will interpret drawings, monitor progress across trades, and document findings with photos.

Strong reporting, codes knowledge, and communication are essential for stakeholders and project teams. The role emphasizes thorough records, professional reporting, and collaboration with project managers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years construction experience as CI/quality role or 5+ years with a four-year engineering degree plus applicable certs within 10 years.
• Ability to read contract drawings and understand local and national building codes.
• In-depth knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and civil trades.
• Proficient with Word, PDF, and reporting software to document findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections to verify compliance with contract documents, specs, codes, and quality requirements.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical documents for accuracy.
• Monitor contractor workmanship and progress across multiple trades and disciplines.
• Identify deficiencies, unforeseen conditions, and non-compliant work and document them.
• Prepare clear reports summarizing activities, observations, deficiencies, and conditions.
• Capture digital photos with descriptions and organize them for traceability.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to contractors, PMs, and stakeholders.
• Maintain inspection records, project docs, photos, and reports throughout the build.
• Utilize Word, PDF tools, and construction software to complete inspection tasks.
