Job summary

Planate Management Group (PMG) is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to perform detailed inspections for the Pier Mike marine construction project for USCG Base. The role focuses on quality workmanship, safety, and compliance with contract documents and codes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years construction inspection experience or 5+ years with a four-year engineering degree and relevant certifications
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs, and understand local/national codes
• Knowledge of trades: structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, architectural, civil
• Experience preparing inspection reports and records

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections to verify compliance with contract documents, specs, codes and quality requirements
• Review and interpret drawings, plans, specs, and technical documents
• Monitor contractor workmanship and progress across multiple trades
• Identify deficiencies and non-compliant work
• Document findings and track deficiencies to completion
• Prepare clear reports summarizing activities, observations, and conditions
• Take digital photos with descriptions and organize them
• Communicate findings clearly to contractors and stakeholders
• Maintain inspection records and project documentation
• Use Word, PDF tools, and construction management software to complete reporting
