Job summary

Atlas is seeking a CM Inspector 2 to support highway and bridge construction projects in Midland, TX, ensuring work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards. This role performs field inspections, documents construction activities, and verifies compliance with TxDOT requirements to support safe, reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting roadway, highway, bridge, or other heavy civil construction projects.
• Experience reviewing daily reports, calculating quantities, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and help resolve field issues and construction discrepancies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, inspectors, and public agency representatives.

Responsibilities

• Inspect highway and bridge construction operations to verify compliance with approved TxDOT plans, special provisions, and contract specifications.
• Review and process daily work reports, material submittals, shop drawings, and monthly progress estimates.
• Perform field measurements and standard calculations to establish accurate pay item quantities.
• Coordinate directly with resident engineers, contractors, and city officials to resolve on-site alignment and structural discrepancies.
• Monitor contractor traffic control setups and erosion control devices to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
