Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Inspector to join our team in Southeast Michigan. This field-heavy role requires you to perform inspections on transportation, bridge, and municipal projects, coordinating with owners, contractors, and designers to keep work on schedule and compliant.

Candidates must have 5+ years of highway/bridge inspection experience, necessary certifications, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Read and understand plans and specifications for inspection work items.
Monitor and inspect construction projects for quality assurance.
Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specs, methods, and codes.
Track workers and equipment on projects.
Review testing reports (soil, aggregate, steel, concrete, HMA, masonry).
Document progress with site reports and photos.
Monitor Critical Path Method schedule to keep projects on time.
Facilitate communication among owners, contractors, and designers.
Obtain and maintain project certifications (e.g., Traffic Control, MCA-ACI).
