Job summary

Woolpert, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector III to join its CE&I team in Houston to support infrastructure projects across aviation, water, and transportation markets. The role involves inspecting construction work, ensuring compliance with plans, and coordinating with managers and engineers.

Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must have work authorization. The ideal candidate has a construction management degree or 8–10+ years of field experience, strong document interpretation

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Construction Management Degree or 8–10+ years field experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid knowledge of construction management, inspections, and materials.
• Familiar with contract administration and pay estimates.
• Knowledge of soils, compaction, and density testing.
• Experience in dredging projects is a plus.
• Experience with construction observation reporting and procedures.
• Ability to write daily reports with accurate quantity tracking.

Responsibilities

• Increase responsibilities to perform construction management duties.
• Analyze programs and apply standard techniques and criteria.
• Apply professional judgment and Woolpert procedures.
• Perform quality control reviews and assist QA processes.
• Manage inspections of projects and material conformity to codes.
• Ensure inspections follow contract protocols.
• Review and interpret construction docs, site drawings, and specs.
• Resolve minor issues and coordinate with other departments.
• Communicate test results to contractors.
• Lead larger groups through subordinate managers and professionals.
• Contribute to strategic decisions affecting area of responsibility.
• Produce daily and weekly reports.
