Job summary

Cumming Group in Los Angeles is seeking a Construction Inspector to support LAWA's Capital Improvement Program across multiple projects. Candidates must hold a LADBS Grading Deputy or Deputy Post-Tensioning license and complete Cal-OSHA 30-hour training within the last four years.

The role requires 5+ years of inspection in Cal-Trans bridge/roadway projects or 10 years as a superintendent, plus strong knowledge of local standards and the ability to work in a large team or independently with

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of inspection experience on Cal-Trans bridge, roadway, and structure projects, or 10 years as a Superintendent on similar projects.
• LADBS Grading Deputy License or Deputy Post-Tensioning (Pre-Stressed) License is required.
• Cal-OSHA 30-hour training completed within the last four years prior to start.
• Strong knowledge of City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles and Cal-Trans standards.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect major reinforced concrete structures, including pile foundations, roadways, and bridges across jurisdictions.
• Inspect installation of sanitary sewers and storm drains per LA standards.
• Conduct building inspections for exterior walls, roofing, and interior framing.
• Inspect installation of street lighting and traffic signals per LA Bureau of Street Lighting and LADOT specs.
• Apply knowledge of LA Standard Plans/Specifications and Greenbook.
• Apply Cal-Trans Standard Plans and Specifications knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with multi-phased traffic control plans with emphasis on pedestrian safety.
• Enforce Cal-OSHA, Contractor, and LAWA safety requirements.
• Prepare daily inspection reports documenting activities, deficiencies, and safety concerns.
• Assist in reviewing and approving contractor progress payments based on work and schedule.
• Collaborate within a large team of Inspectors.
