Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP (E2) is seeking a Construction Inspector to support LAWA’s Capital Improvement Program. This prevailing wage role requires expert inspection of bridges, roadways, and utilities, and collaboration within a large team of inspectors.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in Cal-Trans inspection or 10 years in senior supervisory roles, with LADBS licensing and Cal-OSHA training. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Current LADBS Grading Deputy License or Deputy Post-Tensioning License eligibility.
• 30-hour Cal-OSHA training completed within the last four years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Inspect major reinforced concrete structures, piles, roadways, bridges.
• Inspect sanitary sewer and storm drain installations per LA standards.
• Inspect exterior walls, roofing, framing, drywall, ceilings, finishes and doors.
• Inspect street lighting and traffic signal installations per City/LA DOT specs.
• Apply City of LA standards and Greenbook specifications.
• Apply Cal-Trans standards in inspection work.
• Ensure compliance with traffic control plans and pedestrian safety.
• Enforce Cal-OSHA, contractor safety rules.
• Prepare daily inspection reports documenting activities and issues.
• Review contractor payment requests based on completed work.
• Collaborate with a large team of inspectors.
