Job description

As a Construction Inspector-Senior, you will perform general construction inspection tasks to verify compliance with standards, codes, ordinances, zoning regulations, contract plans, specifications, and special provisions. Projects will include bridges, roadways, and environmental components. This position is available in Northern Virginia, Richmond, Lynchburg, Christiansburg, and Hampton Roads areas of VA.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and monitor construction sites and activities to ensure adherence to standards, codes, and specifications.
• Prepare and submit daily reports documenting inspections and project information.
• Adhere to all project contract documentation and testing of materials.
• Assist in preparing contract change orders, estimates, progress pay estimates, and other reports.
• Verify lines and grades of project improvements.
• Coordinate and perform field testing of materials as required.
• Implement quantity calculations for pay estimates.
• Perform analytical calculations related to earthwork, grading, profiles, and staking procedures.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and stakeholders.
• Act as on-site Administrator in their absence.
• May direct and mentor staff and share technical expertise.
• Participate actively in Kleinfelder's Safety Programs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction inspection, materials testing, or related fields.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and testing equipment.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
• Valid State Driver's License and ability to pass background checks.
• Certifications in construction materials testing (asphalt, concrete, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent with relevant coursework.
