Job summary

New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is seeking a Construction Field Supervisor to oversee Field Inspectors, ensuring construction of NYCHA capital projects meets schedule, quality, and safety standards.

The role reports to the Director of Field Operations within the Asset & Capital Management division, overseeing a portfolio of multi-site spaces and complex renovations across the city. Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and one of the following.
• Four years of full-time satisfactory experience in the installation, repair and/or inspection of mechanical equipment in HVAC, elevators, and/or plumbing in buildings or facilities.
• A combination of education and experience as described, with substitution rules for college education.

Responsibilities

• Supervise activities of Construction Field Inspectors and mentor staff.
• Review daily reports and escalate to Project Management.
• Prepare weekly status reports for Project Management.
• Perform constructability reviews at design stages.
• Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings as needed.
• Assist with responses to contractor-related matters.
• Visit sites to review work status and attend progress meetings.
• Review contractor time extension requests and approve changes.
