Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in Atlanta. The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for healthcare facilities, hospitals, higher education institutions, schools, and government projects, collaborating closely with PMs, engineers, and architects.

Applicants should have at least 5 years of construction estimating experience, strong knowledge of materials and processes, and proficiency with estimation and project management software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role.
• Experience estimating healthcare facilities, hospitals, higher education, schools, commercial buildings, and government projects (federal/state).
• Knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Proficiency with cost estimation and project management software.
• Strong data analysis, interpretation of plans, and reporting skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a team with diverse stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving under pressure.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations and standards.
• Professional certification in cost estimation or project management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specs and performing quantity take-offs for various construction projects.
• Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes for competitive pricing.
• Engage in bid preparation and submission to potential clients.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand project requirements.
• Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
• Use cost/reporting software to present detailed cost reports to stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends in construction cost estimation.
• Provide planning, scheduling, and cost control consultation.
• Participate in project meetings and update cost-related matters.
