Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, Virginia, is seeking an experienced facilities engineer to plan, design, and oversee the construction of new or expanded facilities. The role involves preparing architectural, engineering, and cost estimates, scheduling, and supervising outside contractors to meet design standards.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) and at least 5 years of exempt experience in an industrial

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in engineering (ABET-accredited preferred)
Minimum 5 years of exempt experience in facilities/engineering
Experience managing design and construction of industrial facilities

Responsibilities

Plan, design and oversee construction of new or expanded facilities
Prepare architectural, engineering, and cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans, specifications, and schedules
Obtain and supervise outside contractors and ensure compliance with standards
Coordinate multiple projects with stakeholders, customers, and operations teams
Provide on-site resolution of engineering problems during construction and testing
