Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking an engineer to plan, design and oversee complex facilities projects. You will prepare cost estimates, schedules and specifications, and supervise external contractors to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires an engineering degree (ABET accredited) and several years of industrial construction experience, with coordination across multiple teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET accredited or equivalent).
• Three years' experience in an industrial environment is expected.
• Knowledge of architectural, engineering design and cost estimation processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and oversee construction of new or expanded facilities.
• Prepare estimates, plans, specs and schedules; supervise contractors.
• Ensure design compliance, constructability and safety standards.
• Coordinate multiple projects with stakeholders and operations teams.
