Job summary

Optomi is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to lead delivery of complex telecommunications network infrastructure projects across multiple locations. You will drive project planning, construction execution, vendor performance, and cross-functional coordination to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality goals.

The ideal candidate has strong Outside Plant (OSP) engineering and construction expertise, proven project leadership, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives from planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in telecom construction.
• Knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) engineering standards, industry practices, and construction methods.
• Experience with both aerial and underground telecommunications construction.
• Experience managing the full life cycle of OSP or civil construction projects, from planning through execution and handoff.
• Strong project management skills, including managing multiple complex projects, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and manage comprehensive project plans to support telecommunications network infrastructure deployments.
• Lead cross-functional teams through project planning, construction, execution, and completion.
• Establish vendor expectations and accountabilities while ensuring contractors meet project milestones and quality standards.
• Oversee network architecture, construction methodologies, and material selection to support successful project delivery.
• Manage assigned projects to ensure completion within approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Establish performance metrics, track project progress, and communicate status to relevant stakeholders.
• Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve construction or deployment challenges.
• Coordinate customer handoffs and transitions to operational teams to support successful project completion.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, external engineering firms, contractors, and vendors to maintain alignment throughout the project life cycle.
• Manage competing priorities and proactively address issues that could affect project timelines, costs, or deliverables.
