Job description

We are hiring an experienced OSP Operations Manager to lead the construction, maintenance, and operational performance of a growing fiber optic network supporting FTTH, SMB, and MDU services. This role is ideal for an operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple markets at once, and is passionate about quality, safety, and customer experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Own annual construction goals for fiber passings—on time and on budget
  • Oversee fiber construction projects across multiple locations simultaneously, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met
  • Recruit, hire, and train a team
  • Establish and enforce operational standards for quality control, maintenance, and damage prevention
  • Ensure accurate placement of construction units and complete as-built documentation for engineering and fiber management system input
  • Manage and coordinate third-party construction partners through clear communication and strong contractual alignment
  • Lead inspection operations:
  • Coordinate construction inspectors for compliance to plans/specs/regulations
  • Review/approve inspection reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage inspection schedules and resource allocation to hit deadlines
  • Develop and implement an emergency restoration plan for outages caused by natural disasters or third-party damage
  • Plan for weather/environmental impacts and create contingency schedules
  • Address resident/community concerns related to construction and maintenance with prompt follow-through
  • Mentor and lead full-time employees and third-party contractors
  • Allocate people/equipment across projects and markets
Qualifications
  • BS/BA in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related equivalent
  • 5+ years management experience in OSP construction, leading teams in fiber/telecom construction
  • Strong knowledge of telecom engineering, budget management, scheduling, and field operations
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with mapping/GIS/CADD tools preferred/expected
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and ability to drive strategic initiatives
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Mix of desk work and field activity; must be able to drive
  • Outdoor work in extreme weather/topographic conditions as needed
  • Ability to carry/use tools and equipment; distinguish wire colors
  • Frequent bending/stooping/crawling; ability to work in small spaces (crawl spaces/attics)
  • Travel as needed for market visits and stakeholder engagement
  • May require work outside regular business hours for urgent service issues
