Job summary

Blue Signal Search client is seeking Telecom Infrastructure Specialists to support the reliability, expansion, and improvement of a regional fiber network. This hands-on role blends field work with infrastructure design and project coordination to drive successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate will work in Utah, perform outdoors, and collaborate across functions while maintaining safety, documentation, and industry best practices. Overtime may be required as projects demand.

Our client is an established telecommunications organization seeking experienced Telecom Infrastructure Specialists to support the reliability, expansion, and improvement of its regional fiber network. This is an opportunity for a hands-on telecom professional who enjoys combining field work with infrastructure design and project coordination while gaining the stability, benefits, and visibility of a close-knit organization. Focus:

• Support outside plant fiber projects through a combination of field activities, technical documentation, design support, and project coordination.
• Evaluate aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure in the field and use observations to help guide practical construction and network decisions.
• Prepare and maintain project materials that support work from initial planning through implementation.
• Assist with roadway, permitting, engineering, and construction activities while coordinating with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
• Review field conditions and completed work to help ensure projects align with applicable specifications, safety expectations, and established industry practices.
• Document existing fiber facilities and recommend practical adjustments to routes, construction approaches, or project plans when field conditions require changes.
• Help maintain the condition and accessibility of outside plant routes by identifying and addressing routine field issues.
• Respond to fiber strikes and other network-related field emergencies outside normal business hours when needed.
• Work outdoors throughout the year and remain effective across changing weather, jobsite, and field conditions.
• Support team success by working collaboratively, adapting to changing needs, and providing guidance to developing professionals.

Skill Set:

• Hands-on experience within outside plant telecommunications, fiber infrastructure, telecom construction, field engineering, or a closely related environment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to contribute quickly in an OSP environment with an understanding of how field conditions, construction practices, and network design considerations intersect.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing regular field-based responsibilities.
• Willingness and availability to support occasional after-hours emergency response, including fiber strikes and other urgent network events.
• Working knowledge of various telecommunications systems and the ability to understand technical details related to field-based infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with infrastructure design practices, technical documentation, drafting tools, or related project planning resources is beneficial. Specific technical requirements are being finalized and should not discourage otherwise qualified OSP professionals from applying.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate field and project documentation.
• Organized, dependable, and capable of balancing multiple field and project priorities.
• Collaborative and low-ego approach, with a strong work ethic, sound judgment, and willingness to support the broader team.
• Valid driver's license required.
