Job summary

QTS Data Centers in Irving, Texas, is seeking a Cost Control Manager to lead construction budgets from inception through completion, including validation of change orders and cost governance. You will collaborate with project management, vendors, cost consultants, and finance teams to drive accurate forecasts and timely reporting.

You will oversee monthly draw processes, monitor schedule of values, and support procurement, ensuring compliance and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, finance, or accounting or relevant professional experience.
• Advanced knowledge in construction contract documents and change management.
• Proficiency in financial and project management software (e.g., Workday, e-Builder, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
• Ability to lead and mentor others.
• Seven or more years of experience in construction or project management.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents for compliance with contract and laws.
• Evaluate RTAs to subcontractors and monitor buyout savings.
• During monthly pay applications, verify schedule of values, required documentation, and reconcile budgets.
• Initiate purchase orders and ensure invoices comply with terms.
• Obtain detailed monthly cash flow projections from the contractor and report to capital/investment teams.
• Evaluate change order events with documentation and substantiation for management review.
• Maintain log of potential and approved change orders and manage internal approvals.
• Support the finance team with monthly loan draws and required contractor documentation.
• Lead weekly/biweekly meetings with external construction managers and internal teams on pay apps and change orders.
• Manage third-party change management or cost auditing teams.
• Mentor and grow internal Cost Engineers.
