Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Senior Director, Project Controls to lead preconstruction estimating and onsite cost-control teams across large-scale data center projects. You will ensure financial discipline, manage budgets, schedules, and risk, and coordinate with executives to forecast costs and drive cost‑effective decisions.

The role requires deep expertise in project controls, preconstruction estimating, and contract management, with leadership experience across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, financing, or accounting; or relevant professional experience.
• Deep expertise in project controls, construction contract documents, change management, and budget and schedule control processes.
• Advanced proficiency in financial and project management software (e.g., Workday, e‑Builder, Autodesk Construction Cloud, P6, Oracle).
• Proven ability to lead teams in providing detailed and accurate financial forecasts, track project costs, and manage budgets through all stages of a project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor preconstruction estimating teams and multiple onsite cost teams to adhere to budgets and controls.
• Oversee creation and validation of project budgets for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Ensure strict contract document compliance and manage change across locations.
• Oversee estimation of costs and timelines with insights for senior leadership.
• Manage vendors, subcontractors, and consultants; escalate issues as needed.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication with development, accounting, financing, and project executives.
• Prepare financial reporting templates and monitor cost and schedule adherence.
• Lead risk assessment and mitigation from inception to completion.
• Mentor teams and transfer knowledge to improve cost management practices.
• Maintain third‑party relationships for cost auditing and schedule consulting.
