Job summary

Waters Business Consulting Group, LLC is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the finance function for a $25M annual revenue contractor. You will manage month-end close, project costing, cash forecasting and a small team from Mesa, AZ.

The role partners with ownership to enhance reporting, internal controls and systems, including QuickBooks, Bamboo and Zoho, while driving margin visibility and operating efficiency.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with project-based work.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge for large projects.
• Experience leading accounting staff and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close and GAAP reporting.
• Manage job costing, WIP, revenue recognition and billing.
• Oversee cash forecasting, collections, budgets and variance analysis.
• Supervise payables, receivables, payroll and staff; mentor team.
• Improve workflows, data quality and implement automation.
