Job summary

TBL Mission Critical in Chandler, AZ is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function, own the monthly close, ensure GAAP reporting, and manage the team from day one. The role requires an active CPA license, strong management skills, and deep knowledge of construction WIP and AR/AP.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Head of Finance, the Controller partners with project and operations leaders to provide clear information on financial results, job margins, and cash needs,

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Progressive accounting experience in construction or specialty contracting.
• Experience owning monthly close and related controls.
• Hands-on AR, AP, and payroll accounting experience.
• Expert-level QuickBooks Online experience.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with GAAP statements and reconciliations.
• Manage job-cost and WIP controls across contracts and change orders.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, payable/receivable processes, and tax coordination.
• Lead and develop accounting staff; ensure consistent procedures and backups.
• Configure and own QuickBooks Online and system integrations.
