Job summary

MEPX is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations, serving as a key financial partner to the President and operational leadership.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who understands the financial side of construction and project-based businesses, particularly job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, forecasting, and project financial controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Experience with construction accounting, job costing, and WIP strongly preferred.
• Experience in construction, service, manufacturing, or another project-based business environment preferred.
• Strong ERP and financial-systems experience; ERP implementation or migration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.
• Own financial statements, management reporting, and general-ledger integrity.
• Oversee construction job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Drive project forecasting, margin analysis, change orders, billing, retainage, and collection-risk reporting.
• Lead annual budgeting and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Oversee AP, AR, cash reporting, inventory accounting, and fixed assets.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, audit coordination, and financial compliance.
• Drive financial systems and process-improvement initiatives.
• Provide accounting team leadership and development.
• Coordinate payroll, benefits, and labor-cost reporting.
