Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Construction Controller for a mid-sized local commercial general contractor in Arizona. The role requires hands-on Foundation Software experience and a strong grasp of construction accounting, including WIP and percentage-of-completion.

You will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and project-level financials, while partnering with Project Managers to ensure accurate reporting and robust financial controls.

Qualifications

• Construction Controller experience required.
• Hands-on Foundation Software experience required.
• Commercial construction accounting in GC environment.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Experience overseeing A/R, A/P, payroll, billing, and general ledger.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations for the company.
• Manage construction accounting functions including WIP, job costing, A/R, A/P, billing, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, financial reports, and project-level financial information.
• Monitor project financial performance, budgets, costs, and profitability.
• Manage and review WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate project financial reporting.
• Oversee cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collections.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Ensure accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain accounting records and compliance with policies and standards.
• Utilize Foundation Software to manage and analyze construction accounting information.
• Support leadership with financial analysis and reporting to guide decisions.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and controls.
