Job summary

HFA is seeking an experienced construction accounting professional in Bryant, AR to manage full-cycle accounting for commercial general contracting. You will handle job costing, AIA/g703 billing, WIP reporting, and financial close, while ensuring lien waivers and regulatory compliance across multiple projects.

The role emphasizes construction-specific processes, collaboration with PMs and leadership, and accurate, GAAP-compliant reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of accounting with at least 3 years in construction accounting.
• Knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Experience with construction software such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Foundation; Procore a plus.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable for construction projects.
• Review and approve AIA G702/G703 payment applications and owner billings.
• Assist CEO with preparing month-end financials.
• Process subcontractor invoices, including SOV reconciliation, lien waivers, and retainage tracking.
• Maintain accurate job cost accounting across multiple concurrent projects.
• Prepare monthly WIP schedules and over/under billing reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support bonding, insurance, and banking relationships with financial documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers on budget tracking and cost codes.
• Ensure lien waiver requirements compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Organize and maintain project files, contracts, and financial records.
