Job summary

Zero Impact Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead the Construction Arm’s financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will oversee an accounting team dedicated to construction and ensure GAAP compliance while guiding senior management on financial strategy.

You will manage month-end close, lien administration, and strong vendor relations, working across Project Management, Operations, Procurement, and legal teams to ensure accurate financial information

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting.
• 3 years of “big 4” accounting firm experience preferred.
• Experience navigating complex technical accounting matters.
• Current CPA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial reports including P&L, balance sheets, and project reports with variance analysis.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations for invoices, receipts, approvals and documentation; investigate discrepancies.
• Manage month-end close for the Construction Arm including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain centralized lien log and coordinate lien releases upon payment.
• Maintain project and lien records, track filing deadlines and coordinate with stakeholders as needed.
• Coordinate preparation and issuance of preliminary notices, mechanic’s liens and related documents.
• Support vendor onboarding, credit applications, W-9 collection and vendor record upkeep.
• Review vendor statements and resolve discrepancies and payment issues.
• Foster relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and external partners as primary accounting contact.
