Job summary

Zero Impact Energy seeks a Senior Accountant to lead financial accounting for the Construction Arm, ensuring GAAP compliance and providing strategic guidance to senior management.

The role oversees accounting resources for construction, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement while coordinating with Project Management, Operations, and Legal as needed. In-person work in Costa Mesa, CA is required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting.
• 3 years of “big 4” accounting firm experience preferred.
• Experience navigating through complex technical accounting matters is a must.
• Current CPA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Month-End Close & Financial Reporting: prepare/review monthly reports; coordinate with PMs to obtain invoices and project docs; manage close per GAAP.
• Lien Administration & Construction Compliance: maintain lien log; coordinate releases; verify project/payment data.
• Vendor Relations & Accounts Payable Coordination: support vendor onboarding; resolve discrepancies; maintain vendor records.
• Internal Communication & Cross-Department Collaboration: collaborate across departments; communicate risks and variances; act as accounting liaison.
• Ad Hoc Projects & Special Assignments: provide updates; complete assigned projects on time; perform ad hoc analyses.
