Job summary

Zero Impact Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee the Construction Arm’s financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage month-end close, prepare financial statements, and coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate project costing and compliance with GAAP. This role requires strong Excel skills and prior experience in construction accounting, with CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting.
• 3 years of “big 4” accounting firm experience is preferred.
• Experience in navigating through complex technical accounting matters is a must.
• Current CPA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheets, project reports) and provide analysis of results, variances, and risks.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations for invoices, receipts, approvals, and project documentation; investigate discrepancies and budget variances.
• Manage month-end close process for the Construction Arm, including reconciliations, entries, accruals, and project costing.
• Maintain centralized lien log and coordinate lien releases upon payment confirmation.
• Maintain project and lien records, track filing deadlines, and coordinate with management and legal counsel.
• Prepare, review, and issue preliminary notices, mechanic’s liens, and related documentation.
• Support vendor onboarding, credit applications, W-9 collection, and vendor record maintenance.
