Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a Senior Accountant, Consolidations, to support intercompany and consolidation activities during month-end close. You will prepare and post journal entries, coordinate with Treasury and Tax, and help ensure US GAAP compliance across global entities.

Attention to accuracy and process improvements will be key as volumes grow. You will own close areas end-to-end, document processes, and drive efficiency through automation while partnering with cross-functional teams to resolve

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting and a CPA or Chartered Accountant.
• 4+ years of accounting experience with at least 1 year in month-end close.
• Experience automating accounting or close work and using advanced Excel for large data sets.
• Strong ability to communicate in English, written and verbal.
• Public accounting or intercompany accounting experience; familiarity with ASC 810, FX accounting, capital transactions; SQL or another database query language; experience with a large-scale ERP.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned close areas from start to finish, posting monthly intercompany and consolidation journal entries and reconciliations by close milestone dates.
• Prepare and post journal entries for foreign currency transactions, redenominations, and translation adjustments.
• Work with Treasury on cash pool and intercompany funding accounting, including settlements with FX, accrued and capitalized interest, and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Tax, and other Controlling teams to clear intercompany imbalances and close blockers, raising risks early with a proposed fix.
• Keep documentation, workpapers, and SOPs current so the work is repeatable and audit-ready, and respond to audit requests.
• Cut manual work out of the close by automating processes and coordinating with Tax, Treasury, and partners.
• Core working hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time; additional flexibility during month-end close.
