Job summary

Amphenol Corporation is seeking an experienced Connector Development Engineer to advance next‑generation interconnect products. You will design and develop high-speed and power connectors, and cable assemblies, while collaborating with global teams to meet performance and cost targets.

The role requires hands‑on engineering, strong design skills, and the ability to drive projects from concept to qualification, with travel to visit clients as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in connector/cable assembly design and development.
• Experience with card edge, memory, power connectors, and high-speed cable assemblies.
• Familiarity with PCIe, DDR, OCP, JEDEC, and SFF standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and design skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across global teams.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and PDM tools (Creo, Windchill) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead connector/interconnect development projects from concept through evaluation and qualification.
• Design high-speed, power connectors, and cable assemblies (card edge, memory, storage).
• Collaborate with global customers and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Apply server/storage architectures and signal integrity concepts per PCIe, OCP, JEDEC, SFF.
• Develop prototypes, oversee testing/qualification, ensure compliance with standards.
• Perform cost analysis and provide design trade-offs for product management and manufacturing.
• Benchmark competitors to differentiate performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Support Sales/Marketing with technical training and customer engagements.
• Partner with Manufacturing to reduce costs and improve quality.
• Stay current with interconnect trends to guide future development.
