Job summary

The Phoenix Group Advisors is seeking a Manager of Conflicts & New Business to oversee conflicts, intake, and risk management. The role requires a strong grasp of ethics, conflicts of interest, and risk, with sound judgment and attention to detail.

You will guide attorneys on conflicts procedures, support onboarding, and prepare screening memos, reporting to the COO. As a key liaison between Firm leadership and business departments, you will implement systems and improvements to streamline

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in law firms or legal/risk environments focused on conflicts analysis and oversight.
• Strong understanding of legal ethics, conflicts of interest, and risk management principles.
• Experience supervising conflicts and new business intake processes.
• Experience with Intapp Open and/or Intapp Conflicts preferred.
• Experience with research and due diligence platforms such as S&P Capital IQ, Dun & Bradstreet, Hoovers, and World-Check One.
• Ability to interpret complex corporate structures and maintain accurate client/matter databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end conflicts, new business intake, and risk management processes.
• Serve as senior escalation point and liaison on conflicts and risk matters.
• Conduct extensive research on clients, related parties, and matters to identify conflicts.
• Perform due diligence and analyze information to evaluate and resolve conflicts.
• Assess risk issues and provide timely clearance under deadlines.
• Analyze large data volumes and clearly communicate findings.
• Identify situations needing waivers and coordinate with attorneys on addressing them.
• Review new matter forms and engagement letters for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain client/matter databases with current and historical info.
• Draft conflicts-related documentation and risk management materials.
• Support conflicts-related onboarding for lateral attorneys.
• Develop systems and procedures to streamline conflicts/workflows.
• Contribute to implementing and enhancing conflicts/new business intake systems.
