Job summary

The Phoenix Group Advisors in New York seeks a Manager of Conflicts & New Business to oversee conflicts, new business intake, and risk management, ensuring ethical compliance and sound professional judgment. You will advise attorneys, support onboarding, and prepare screening memoranda.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will serve as a key liaison between Firm leadership and business departments, driving process improvements and maintaining accurate client and matter data.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a law firm or legal/risk environment focused on conflicts analysis and oversight.
• Strong understanding of legal ethics, conflicts of interest, and risk management principles.
• Experience overseeing conflicts and new business intake processes.
• Experience with Intapp Open and/or Intapp Conflicts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end conflicts, new business intake, and risk management processes.
• Serve as senior escalation point and liaison on conflicts and risk matters.
• Conduct extensive research on existing and prospective clients to identify conflicts.
• Perform due diligence and analyze complex information to resolve conflicts.
• Assess risk and provide timely clearance in a deadline-driven environment.
• Review client engagement letters and new matter requests for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain accurate client and matter databases with current and historical information.
• Develop and implement systems to streamline conflicts and new business workflows.
• Collaborate with firm leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure consistency.
