Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to lead software configuration management and release activities for VA-related applications. This remote, US-based role emphasizes cloud migration, CM tooling, and disciplined build processes.

You will implement CM standards, train developers, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliant, repeatable deployments across projects. A strong background in CM, DevOps, and scripting is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in configuration management, release engineering, and CM tool usage.
• Experience in federal/regulatory environments or large enterprises.
• Proven ability to lead builds and releases across environments.
• Strong knowledge of CM processes: identification, baselining, change control, status accounting.
• Experience with source control systems and branching strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and artifact repositories.
• Scripting experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Familiarity with IaC and environment management tools.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software.
• Perform CM and release tasks ensuring compliant build parameters.
• Design, automate, and maintain productivity tools for software modeling.
• Create and implement build procedures for product development and use.
• Develop company-wide CM standards and train developers.
• Provide guidance on CM tools and quality practices.
