Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to lead configuration-management services for critical facility electrical and mechanical systems. You will direct lifecycle documentation, manage records in FSC, and coordinate across engineering teams and contractors to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in engineering or related technical discipline with at least eight years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and facility systems, configuration management, and technical documentation, with proficiency in CAD and field verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead configuration management for critical facility electrical and mechanical systems.
• Plan and manage medium-to-large configuration-control projects and coordinate across disciplines.
• Direct lifecycle configuration control of design documents, drawings, O&M manuals, startup records, test reports, vendor information, and other controlled records; ensure revision status and traceability.
• Verify as-built drawings and equipment records against field conditions; coordinate corrective actions with engineering, maintenance, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Manage facility equipment and asset information in the FSC and controlled repositories; handle indexing, revision status, and linking to authoritative records.
• Integrate contractor, vendor, and field information to support electrical system modeling, fault-current studies, and protective-device coordination.
• Provide senior technical guidance and mentoring to personnel supporting configuration-control activities.
