Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a Senior Configuration Analyst - II to lead software configuration management and release engineering for VA-related applications. This remote, U.S.-based role requires strong CM expertise, scripting, and DevOps tooling across Git, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC.

The candidate will implement build procedures, train developers, and ensure compliant deployment processes while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading large software builds and releases.
• Experience in regulated or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of software development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Experience with CM practices (identification, baselining, change control).
• Experience with source control and branching/merging strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and artifact repositories.
• Scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Experience with COTS software, vendor patches, and version control.
• Infrastructure as code and environment management (Ansible, Terraform).
• Knowledge of software quality standards, governance, and training developers on CM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead CM and release engineering tasks to document and align parameters with hardware configurations.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software.
• Implement build procedures to support product development and use.
• Develop software configuration standards for organization-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and software quality practices.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliant, repeatable builds and deployments.
• Mentor junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.
