Job summary

EMCORE LLC in Concord, CA is seeking a Configuration & Design Engineer to lead the change control process for hardware and software configurations across QMEMS and FOG sites. You will own end-to-end change control, release BOMs, and ensure alignment between Windchill PLM and Infor Syteline ERP.

The role requires 5+ years in configuration management within regulated environments, hands-on CAD/PLM experience (CREO, SolidWorks, Windchill), and strong communication. This on-site position may travel <10% between sites and reports to Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years in configuration management, document control, or PLM administration in regulated industries.
• Hands-on experience with PLM systems (Windchill, ProductCenter) and MRP/ERP systems.
• Hands-on CAD experience (CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong BOM/configuration genealogy and traceability knowledge.
• Experience with obsolescence resolution in production environments.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end change control, including Change Control Board meetings and impact assessments.
• Coordinate changes across design, supply chain, production, test, and quality teams.
• Manage releases and ensure BOMs are synchronized between Windchill and ERP systems.
• Maintain PLM workflows and documentation control for hardware and software items.
• Support design reviews and drawing checks for producibility and release readiness.
