Job summary

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking an engineer to plan and coordinate the preparation of project documentation, including engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.

The role analyzes proposed design changes, coordinates modification records, and collaborates with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and data control to implement changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and multiple years of exempt experience.
• Equivalent combinations may satisfy minimum qualifications as listed.
• Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation such as drawings, production specs and schedules.
• Reviews contract requirements and determines documentation for each phase of the project.
• Analyzes proposed design changes to assess impact on product and system.
• Coordinates modification records and prepares change orders for authorization.
