Job summary

Kent Companies seeks a Senior Estimator to lead bid proposals and analyze project scopes in Raleigh, NC. You will develop detailed cost estimates, review contract drawings, and guide pricing strategies with subcontractors and vendors. This role requires strong leadership and communication.

Responsibilities include maintaining preconstruction schedules, performing thorough take-offs, and ensuring estimates align with bid tactics and profit goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering; 5+ years concrete estimating; 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven experience managing concrete preconstruction processes.
• In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices.
• Experience building relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license; reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
• Identifies risks and communicates with Operations on production, schedule, staffing.
• Provides value engineering and design assist solutions, including cost/schedule impacts.
• Reviews contract documents to develop project cost estimates.
• Solicits subcontractor and supplier pricing and selects best-qualified bidders.
• Prepares accurate, comprehensive proposals with exclusions and documentation.
• Maintains preconstruction schedule and bid calendar.
• Participates in post-bid interviews to clarify scope and exclusions.
• Hand-off project details to project management and field operations.
