Job summary

Kent Companies is seeking an Estimator to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for assigned projects and to assemble bid proposals. This role involves analyzing drawings and specs, managing the pre-bid/bid process in the CRM, and communicating with customers to secure contracts.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction management or 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial concrete or flooring, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (construction management preferred) or 5+ years of commercial concrete, flooring, or other construction estimating experience.
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and scheduling.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel to other offices including Grand Rapids, MI as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage the CRM (Cosential) daily for pre-bid and bid phase information.
• Assemble bid proposals and follow up with clients to overcome obstacles to award.
• Quantify all items in scope with labor, alternates, and vendor pricing.
• Prepare accurate, comprehensive proposals including site mobilizations, durations, and logistics.
• Develop value engineering items and all required submission documentation.
