Job summary

Liberty, founded in Boston and serving nationwide, seeks an estimator to lead cost estimation for concrete projects in the Concrete Division. You will review design documents, perform quantity take-offs, and prepare proposals for clients.

You will coordinate with vendors, manage project documents, support sales efforts, and mentor team members with strong analytical skills and proficiency in estimating software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial construction cost estimation for concrete projects.
• Strong reading of plans and specs with analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates and issue proposals for concrete services after reviewing design documents and quantities take-offs.
• Maintains adherence to estimating and project management standards.
• Organizes and distributes construction documents in a timely manner.
• Solicits and qualifies vendor quotes to obtain economical costs for supplies, equipment, and sub-contractor labor.
• Attends de-scope meetings and reviews proposals.
• Supports sales efforts to bring in new business and maintains client relations.
• Provides project coordination throughout awarded projects (scope, changes, billing, close-out).
• Analyzes project outcomes to identify improvements for estimating and execution.
• Identifies cost trends to aid management in cost reduction.
• Implements standards and best practices to improve efficiency and safety.
• Participates in detailed concrete construction schedules and pre-construction planning.
• Tracks durations and production data for historical analysis.
