Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a skilled Concrete Estimator in Jacksonville to develop accurate bid proposals and scope analyses for commercial projects. You will prepare pricing for new bids and change orders, review specifications, and assess labor, materials, and equipment costs to ensure competitive, profitable estimates.

The role requires strong communication, reading of technical documents, and experience with concrete foundations and related products.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years estimating large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Knowledge of cast-in-place concrete construction, footings and foundations.
• Strong verbal and written communication for contractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents.
• Knowledge of related structural products (joist, deck, stairs, rails, anchor rods).
• Ability to assemble the scope of work with inclusions, exclusions and qualifications.
• Familiarity with estimating software; proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction terminology.
• Experience using B2W software is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or in a team.
• Internships or Project Engineering experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimator duties: read bid instructions and prepare material take-offs.
• Estimate labor, materials, buyout items and equipment costs (including crane costs).
• Review proposals, specs, drawings and attend pre-bid meetings to define scope.
• Incorporate safety in estimating decisions and methods.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and owners/GCs.
• Manage buyout process in coordination with the Project Manager.
