Job summary

Simbe Robotics is seeking a Senior Computer Vision / Applied AI Engineer to build production AI systems that turn store imagery into trusted retail intelligence. You will own end-to-end CV tasks across detection, OCR, barcode, and product recognition while ensuring data quality and robust deployments.

You will work with Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and modern ML tooling to iterate rapidly on real-world retail data, delivering measurable value for customers and retailers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in computer vision, applied ML, robotics perception, or production AI.
• Strong Python skills with PyTorch or TensorFlow experience.
• Experience training and evaluating object detection, segmentation, OCR, or visual search models.

Responsibilities

• Build production CV models: detect objects, segmentation, OCR, barcode localization.
• Own dataset quality: curate, clean, annotate, audit data.
• Improve model performance via architecture, augmentation, data, and evaluation.
• Support model releases with validation, ONNX/TensorRT exports, and monitoring.
• Develop internal tools for evaluation, annotation review, data visualization, and deployment.
• Partner with Product, CS, Data, Robotics, and Field Ops to translate issues into model improvements.
• Stay current with open vocabulary detection, multimodal product understanding, and edge inference.
