Job summary

AWS Hardware Engineering Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global compute systems. We support data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep the cloud running.

Lead the design and development of server products with partners, understand customer needs, architect scalable solutions, and deploy at scale in data centers. Join a team focused on reliability, performance, and cost optimization across global infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
• 4+ years of systems development in an IT or data center environment.
• 3+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
• 2+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
• 2+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of server products using a wide range of design and manufacturing partners.
• Work closely with customers to understand technical needs and business goals, and architect solutions to deploy at scale.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (component, firmware, test, qualification, integration) and lead design and manufacturing partners to bring servers to the data center.
• Oversee post-launch fleet quality and performance, ensuring they meet customer requirements.
• Decompose complex server system testability, reliability, and diagnosis problems into actionable tasks and deliver them professionally.
• Drive continuous improvement of product performance, quality, and cost.
• Maintain high standards for reliability and operational excellence.
