Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering team designs compute and storage servers for AWS cloud. You will own the design and development of server products with partners, collaborating with software, hardware, and network engineers across AWS to deliver safe, secure, and cost-efficient solutions.

You will work with customers to understand technical needs and business goals, architect scalable server deployments, and oversee the fleet post-launch to ensure quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience with debugging, profiling, and implementing software engineering best practices in large-scale systems.
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the design and development of server products with a wide range of design and manufacturing partners.
• Collaborate with diverse teams across AWS to deliver safe, secure, and cost-efficient server solutions.
• Understand customer needs and business goals to architect scalable server deployments.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams to bring servers to data centers and oversee fleet performance post-launch.
• Drive continued improvements in performance, quality, and cost of server products.
