Job summary

Terabase in Berkeley, CA is seeking an experienced Compute Engineer to own the server, virtualization, and endpoint compute layer. You will design and manage the hypervisor estate, administer Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, Intune, Windows 365, and ensure secure, scalable compute resources across the organization.

This hands-on role collaborates with networking, security, applications, and helpdesk teams to deliver reliable performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 5–7 years in systems/infrastructure/compute engineering or IT operations.
• Deep Windows Server experience with solid Linux knowledge.
• Proven virtualization design and management at scale (VMware vSphere/Hyper‑V).
• Strong Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, Entra Connect expertise, and SSO integrations.
• Advanced Intune experience for device config and compliance.
• Hands-on Windows 365 / Cloud PC deployment at scale.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Solid networking fundamentals and incident resolution abilities.
• Experience with backup, monitoring, and patch management.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the compute environment and plan capacity.
• Design scalable server and virtualization architectures and lead end‑to‑end projects.
• Provision, patch, and maintain physical servers and VMs (Windows/Linux).
• Administer hypervisor environments and ensure high availability.
• Manage Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD, and hybrid identity integrations.
• Administer Intune and Windows 365 Cloud PC deployments.
• Automate provisioning and maintenance with PowerShell and scripts.
• Monitor, alert, and back up computing resources; lead incident response.
• Apply patching, hardening, and access controls; support audits.
• Document configurations, procedures, and runbooks.
