Job summary

Penumbra, Inc. in Alameda, California, seeks a Senior Systems Administrator to own and optimize enterprise infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments, including Azure IaaS/PaaS, Office 365, EntraID, AD, and backup platforms.

You will lead optimization, automation, and governance to ensure security, performance, and scalability. The role requires strong experience in Windows and Linux systems, virtualization (Hyper‑V/VMware), IAM, PKI, and enterprise backups, with after‑hours on‑call

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of enterprise-level systems administration/engineering experience.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies and cloud platforms, including Azure.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise systems across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues.
• Develop infrastructure automation to improve service delivery and reliability.
• Support virtualization, storage, backups, and security governance.
• Provide after-hours on-call support on a rotating schedule.
