Terabase Energy in Berkeley, CA is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to own virtualization, server, storage, backup, and network infrastructure that supports critical SCADA and engineering systems.

This hands-on senior contributor role emphasizes operational reliability, high availability, cybersecurity alignment, and disaster recovery readiness across VMware and Hyper-V environments, with focus on OT/industrial contexts.

Qualifications

• Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
• 7+ years of infrastructure engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V (Failover Clustering, Live Migration).
• Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Enterprise networking experience (Firewalling, VLANs, routing fundamentals).
• Experience in managing high-availability production systems.
• Experience participating in on-call escalation rotations.
• Strong documentation and operational discipline.

Responsibilities

• Own lifecycle management of VMware ESXi/vCenter and Hyper-V environments.
• Design, maintain, and optimize HA clusters (VMware HA/DRS and Hyper-V Failover Clustering).
• Perform hypervisor patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Optimize virtual machine performance and resource allocation.
• Maintain standardized templates and configuration governance.
• Administer and optimize Veeam Backup & Replication; define RPO/RTO targets.
• Deploy and troubleshoot enterprise networks, including firewalling, routing, and VLANs.
• Lead root cause analysis after outages or service degradation.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, SOPs, and documentation.
