Job summary

Cadence Design Systems is seeking a Computational Structural Dynamicist to develop solver capabilities for automotive and aerospace industries. You will design, implement, and enhance advanced structural dynamics algorithms in MSC Nastran, Cadence's flagship finite element program.

A key part of the role is diving into the existing codebase to diagnose and resolve complex numerical and algorithmic bugs, while collaborating with product management to translate requirements into robust software

Qualifications

• PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics or Civil Engineering.
• Experience implementing, enhancing, and debugging in a commercial-grade parallel FEA code.
• Strong proficiency in C++, FORTRAN and Python; capable of refactoring and debugging.
• Mastery of advanced structural dynamics and linear algebra for engineering mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize structural dynamics capabilities for FEA software.
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate requirements into software designs.
• Apply high-level linear algebra to engineering mechanics problems.
• Develop parallel code to ensure high-performance, bug-free execution.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve numerical issues in a large codebase.
